08.17.2018: Reflection Questions-
- How does something you learned connect to what you already knew?
- How did it extend your thinking further?
- What questions do you still have?
- Think of one thing you have learned in class that you can apply in Peer Power classroom or another class or another part of your life. What is it, and how can you apply it?

First off, I dispise LABELS! I am a firm believer that stereotypes are the prodigy of self hate. I am glad we discussed this topic. I feel as if being comfortable in who I am and what I am capable of are important qualities to have as a Success Coach.
ReplyDeleteThe Growth Mindset is something I learned about today that will help me in a Peer Power classroom. In life and in the classroom, we as success coaches, will experience obstacles. Each day is likely to be much different than the one before. Having a fixed mind set will weigh a success coach down and the class will then suffer. On the other hand, a growth mindset will help one find a solution to those obstacles and will thus create an environment that challenges both student and success coach.
ReplyDeleteI think I could apply growth mindset to the classroom to help myself and the scholars
ReplyDeleteIn closing my training , I learned how to have a opened mind (growth mindset) we really opened up to each other today, and learned bout the stories of others.
ReplyDeleteI think the growth mindset is the most important tools we can come into the classroom with because how we think about the student really makes the difference in how we interact with them.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the conversation about emotional intelligence because it will be important to have our own EQ in control in order to teach students how to do that for themselves.
ReplyDeleteThe Growth Mindset extended my thinking further. I immediately realized that there’s certain things that I can use to continue growing in the classroom and outside the classroom daily.
ReplyDeleteI really liked that we touched base on stereotypes. I think it’s really important, especially given the diversity in SCS schools. I liked that the growth mindset was saved for the very last topic because it embodies what Peer Power is doing for these kids.
ReplyDeleteAfter every lesson, I just feel more self aware. I really appreciate the strategies/tips to improve your emotional intelligence and this should be implemented into school system. This would only benefit the students' development (personally and socially).

I feel like it be best to stay in a growth mindset and discredit sterotypes because that limits people view on somebody that could change your outlook for the better.
